Comments: A flavoprotein. The enzyme catalyses the reduction of bound ferric iron in a variety of iron chelators (siderophores), resulting in the release of ferrous iron. The enzyme from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Archaeoglobus fulgidus is not active with uncomplexed Fe(III). cf.
