IUBMB Enzyme Nomenclature

Accepted name: P-type Ag+ transporter

Reaction: ATP + H2O + Ag+[side 1] = ADP + phosphate + Ag+[side 2]

Other name(s): Ag+-exporting ATPase

Systematic name: ATP phosphohydrolase (P-type, Ag+-exporting)

Comments: A P-type ATPase that exports Ag+ ions from some bacteria, archaea as well as from some animal tissues. The proteins also transport Cu+ ions (cf. EC, P-type Cu+ transporter).
