Standard reference frame for the description of nucleic acid base-pair geometry
In conformational analyses of DNA and RNA structures, much confusion has arisen from the different ways that the three-dimensional arrangements of bases and base pairs are specified. A common point of reference was needed for computational schemes. A group of researchers who create and use the different software packages have proposed a standard base reference frame that has received wide acceptance . This document has been approved by the NC-IUBMB committee. A copy of this document is available at http://ndbserver.rutgers.edu/standards/index.html.
